Decent Cleanser, but Misleading Claims and No Ingredient Transparency
I tried the *“Rose Rice Mochi Face Cleanser Wash Cream, Moisturizing, Deep-Cleansing, Oil Control, Makeup Cleansing Balm for Women for All Skin Types (5.29oz)”* and for around eight dollars as of November 2025, it performs about as well as an average face wash. What stood out to me immediately was that it absolutely does not lather or foam, despite what some reviewers and parts of the product description claim. It’s thick and creamy with small exfoliating beads, so it feels more like a gentle scrub than anything resembling a foaming cleanser. The product also describes itself as moisturizing and oil-controlling at the same time, which doesn’t quite make sense. After using it, my skin actually felt a bit dry, so anyone with oily skin might appreciate it, but if you have dry skin, I’d steer clear because it will likely make things worse. The rose scent comes across as somewhat artificial but not unpleasant to me, though someone with a sensitive nose may find it too much. It also doesn’t remove makeup well—maybe a little foundation at best—and it’s definitely not something you want near your eyes while scrubbing off mascara or liner. One thing the listing does mention is that it’s a gentle exfoliator, which is accurate, but that’s where the transparency ends. The full ingredient list is nowhere to be found on the Amazon page, and I find that unacceptable. Many people have allergies or sensitivities to specific ingredients, and not giving shoppers that information upfront is unfair, even at an eight-dollar price point. So while I did like it as a basic face wash, the misleading claims and lack of ingredient transparency keep me from giving it more than three stars. If the manufacturer chooses to be clearer and more honest in their listing, I’d reconsider, but as it stands, shoppers are better off choosing a product that tells them exactly what’s in it before they buy.

Cannot remove makeup
Maybe this is a fine cleansing balm. I can’t really speak to that. It is a little gritty which I wasn’t expecting. It smells heavily of rose. It does not remove waterproof mascara, which I was hoping it would. Not so much makeup removing balm. More so… Cleansing balm and not much more helpful than a general purpose facial soap.

Gentle, Lovely, and Leaves Skin Happy
I recently tried the Rose Rice Mochi Face Cleanser, and it’s quickly become a sweet little part of my skincare routine. It doesn’t lather up heavily—so if you’re expecting big suds, this isn’t that kind of cleanser but honestly, that’s okay. It still spreads smoothly and rinses clean without stripping my skin. The scent is absolutely lovely soft, floral, and calming without being overpowering. It’s the kind of fragrance that makes washing your face feel like a mini spa moment. The included scoop is a cute touch, though I found it easier to just use my fingers. Not a must-have, but a nice bonus if you like keeping things tidy. After rinsing, my skin feels clean, soft, and refreshed not tight or dry. It handles light makeup removal well and seems to help with oil control without over-drying. For a gentle, moisturizing cleanse with a touch of luxury, this one’s a winner in my book.

Excellent value. It only takes a little.
My face feels very clean and soft after using this product. I found it pleasant, with a subtle scent of roses. It’s a thick cream, but spreads well with a little water. The spatula is nice because it helps to avoid contamination from fingers. There are gentle exfoliators within the cream. Just enough to clean the skin well, but not abrade it. I rubbed it all over my face, eyelids, and neck, then rinsed well. I have combination skin, and my forehead tends to get oily. It feels clean now, and my eyes are less puffy and fatigued. After all was done, I used a separate facial moisturizer, because my skin felt a little tight. My face feels a bit pampered today.

Doesn’t form lather and has strong smell
Rose Rice Mochi Face Cleanser comes in a 5.29 ounce jar with a little spatula. It contains rice powder for exfoliation. It’s good until 9/28 and is good for all skin types. It’s a product of China. The texture of the cleanser is soft and whipped. I mixed it in my palm with a small amount of water, but it formed no suds at all. When I spread it on my face, I could feel the exfoliating particles from the rice powder. It also contains rose powder, and has quite a strong rose fragrance, which was too strong for a face product, I think. That fragrance might irritate sensitive skin, even though the product page claims it is gentle on sensitive skin. It contains glycerin and hyaluronic acid for hydration. But it also contains petrolatum, a petroleum product, and alcohol. I dislike both those ingredients in a face care product. The cleanser was difficult to rinse off, and I didn’t feel it made my skin feel particularly clean. Between the strong scent, the lack of lather, the questionable ingredients, and the way my skin felt after cleansing, I was not impressed. So although the price is reasonable, I don’t feel I can recommend this cleanser.
